A suicide bomber driving a Keke Napep has killed himself and one other person in front of the Department of State Security (DSS) office in Maiduguri on Saturday morning.
A security sources said the blast went off a few meters from the office at about 7 a.m.
A hospital source said four people were being treated for injuries.
Maiduguri is the birthplace of Boko Haram and has seen increased suicide bombings since the inauguration of the Muhammadu Buhari administration on May 29.
Two suicide bombers blew themselves up near a Maiduguri hospital during a visit by the vice president at the start of July and, a few days later, Boko Haram militants attacked the city from the outskirts.
