Thirteen people were killed on Friday in a triple attack in the northeastern Nigerian city of Damaturu targeting Muslim worshippers celebrating the end of the holy month of Ramadan, medics said.
Two people were killed in twin explosions that rocked the city, before a third moments later went off near a mosque, leaving another 11 dead, the latest attacks in the region where Boko Haram Islamists have waged an insurgency for six years.
"For now we have 13 dead bodies brought to the hospital," a medical source who wished to remain anonymous told news men

The blasts all took place near the site where prayers for Eid, which marks the end of Ramadan, were due to be held.

The fight against Boko Haram will top the agenda when Nigeria's new President Muhammadu Buhari meets Barack Obama in Washington on Monday.
