Knock knock, who's there? David Beckham with a cheque for $100,000. For one Californian family on Tuesday night, this wan't a terrible joke.

Goldenballs: David Beckham was the final 'door knock' on Ryan Seacrest's new TV show Knock Knock Live on Tuesday night, suprising a family with $100,000
he 40-year-old was the final 'door knock' on Ryan Seacrest's new TV show Knock Knock Live, which as the name suggests, surprises unsuspecting American families with a live camera crew and a chance to win a tonne of money... and usually there's no chance involved, they just hand over the cash.
In the closing segment of Tuesday night's premiere episode, the host explained that the soccer icon was en rout to the home of the Gonzales family; the father had been a professional soccer player in Mexico but had to give it up and take a job in construction to support his family - and thus only got to see them once a month.
Seacrest revealed that Beckham, who himself came from a working class background, wanted to recognize a hard working family similar to his own.
And when he knocked on the door, there was no doubt Mrs Gonzales recognized him too.
Her screams were undoubtedly heard by every one of her neighbours and she ushered him in, flabbergasted.
First order of business was for Beck's to dish out seven new iPhones from Sprint mobile, the phone network he has recently become the face of. And just in case any viewers weren't already aware of that, every one of the hour long programme's many commercial breaks had a Beckham Spint ad in there

On me 'ead, son: No Latino family were ever going to let David Beckham walk out the door with dragging him out to the back garden for a kick about.

The former Galaxy star then informed the family they didn't have to worry about the bills, as they were covered for ten years.
But their big surprise came when he handed over a tiny envelope containing a cheque for a whopping $100,000, which cued flowing tears from every member of the family.

'Giving the cheque for $100k, you can see it means so much to them,' a clearly moved Beckham said afterwards. 'You can see it has literally changed their lives'
'I'm very fortunate in my life, and to be able to do this for this family that works so hard... it is an amazing feeling.'

Another couple in Nashville who never got a chance to go on their honeymoon got the opportunity to win a trip to Australia if they could figure out within 60 seconds what their very animated Chinese neighbour was talking about in Cantonese - they correctly figured out they had to 'take a selfie' with one second remaining on the clock.

At the start of the show, an entire neighbourhood had the chance to be sprayed either with red confetti or $25,000 in cash if one neighbor could correctly guess what another neighbour's favourite baseball team was.
She guessed the Dodgers, prompting a cannon to drop a mortar shell of $1s, $5s, $10s and $20s, and prompting the sack-wielding neighbours to drop to their knees and grab for all they were worth.
While the 'live' setup was a bit hard to swallow on some of the segments - with some families clearly prepared for their 'surprise' visits - and the whole programme essentially being one long ad for the products they win, and it being a little saccharine in parts, the participants were nonetheless extremely appreciative of being on the receiving ends of an hour of feel-good television.
