Two foreign models were caught trying to shoplift clothing worth only $20 at a department store in Chongqing on
Monday.
The two Ukrainian women who worked as models in the city walked into the clothing section of Yonghui Department Store and tried on a number of outfits. A staff member on duty at the time, surnamed Zhou, said the two appeared suspicious from the moment they stepped into the store.

“They both carried huge bags, and each took about seven to eight pieces of clothing into the fitting room, which I
found odd. Most customers would not normally try on so many clothes in one go,”
By the time they stepped out of the fitting room, Zhou discovered a garment was missing. One model reluctantly
handed it back to Zhou. Afterwards, the two said they were going to purchase the clothes and walked towards the
cashier.
Feeling skeptical about their intentions, Zhou watched the models. Apparently, the two had turned sideways before reaching the cash register and hustled towards the door. After checking with the cashier, Zhou confirmed that the two left without paying and immediately chased after them.
The models were stopped right outside of the department store. They were caught redhanded with a top and dress worth about 128 RMB($20) in their bags.
