Report reaching us has it that President Muhammadu Buhari has fired the Director General of Department of State Service, DSS, Ita Ekpenyong, and has appointed Lawal Musa Daura as new head of the agency.
Ekpeyong’s sack was announced by Danladi Kifasi, the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, in a statement released by the Director of Communications, Haruna Imrana,
in his office.
Daura was borN on August 5, 1953 and started his career in the State Security in 1982 and rose to the rank of Director.
The Ahmadu Bello University graduate, was also one time Deputy Director, Presidential Communication, Command and Control Centre, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, between 2003 and 2007.
Daura has served as State Director of Security Service at different times in Kano, Imo, Osun, Lagos, Sokoto and Edo.
His appointment is with immediate effect.
