The England captain was pictured riding the waves with his son Klay as the family spent time on holiday in Barbados.

Rooney has been enjoying some time off with his family before hitting the ground running 

And he will certainly be in the right frame of mind after being spotted beaming alongside wife Colleen and their two sons. 

Rooney won't be home for long, with Louis van Gaal's United jetting off to America later this month to fulfill their pre-season tour. 

The Red Devils are in Seattle on July 17 to play Club America before venturing to San Jose four days later. 

From there the friendlies become more serious, with fixtures planned against European champions Barcelona and Paris St Germain.
